I have bowed my head in churches, mosques, and temples. I’ve prayed, chanted, and sang in choirs. I’ve read spiritual texts, hundreds of self-help books, and a lot of Shakespeare. I’ve traveled to the foothills of the Himalayas where The Beatles meditated with the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. And there were years when I abstained from eating anything that had a face on it. My attempts at becoming a better, purer, powerful, enlightened, and more self-assured person have been ongoing and varied, to say the least. But never in my wildest dreams would I have thought that working for myself in my own business – having to show up and be seen and heard - would end up being the vehicle and catalyst for my physical and spiritual expansion. Who knew! This journey we are all on isn’t easy, is it? – but we are seeing every day what we are made of - aren’t we? And just when we think we can’t go any further, just when we think we don't have the courage or confidence to be seen and heard, our resilience and strength show up to reveal the hidden depth and power of who we really are. We surprise ourselves - because it's always been there. My hope for myself and for all of you beautiful people is that we never lose sight of the magnitude of this journey we’re all on. Whether you're trying to create a business, become a speaker, or stand out more at work, remember that there is something much bigger and expansive going on for all of us. Let's always remember that.
